Cookie Policy.
Cookies and similar technologies used on velmoraseo.com, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to opt out — written to satisfy the EU ePrivacy Directive, UK PECR, and US state privacy laws.
- We use the smallest cookie footprint we can. Most pages on velmoraseo.com set zero cookies.
- We do not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking.
- Analytics is via Plausible, which does not set any cookies and does not identify visitors.
- You can disable cookies entirely in your browser settings; the site will continue to function.
- We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out from any cookie-based personalization.
What cookies are
A “cookie” is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. It can store an identifier, language preference, login token, or similar small data. Cookies are read on later visits to remember context (a session) or to recognize you (an identifier).
This policy uses “cookies” to refer collectively to cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixels, scripts, software development kits, and device fingerprinting techniques) covered under the EU ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC), the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), California Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 22575 (CalOPPA), and similar laws.
Cookie categories
Cookies are categorized by purpose. We use only the first category — strictly necessary — on velmoraseo.com, and there are no third-party advertising or social-media cookies anywhere on the site.
- Strictly necessary
- Required for core site functionality (e.g., honoring your cookie-consent preference, security tokens, request routing). These do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.
- Functional
- Remember choices you make (language, theme). Used only when set by you.
- Analytics / performance
- Help us understand which pages are read. We use a privacy-friendly provider (Plausible) that does not set cookies, so this category is effectively empty.
- Marketing / advertising
- Not used on velmoraseo.com.
- Social-media plug-ins
- Not used on velmoraseo.com.
Cookie inventory
The complete list of cookies and similar technologies that may be set on velmoraseo.com:
- __cf_bm (Cloudflare)
- Strictly necessary. Bot-management cookie used to distinguish humans from automated traffic. Lifetime: 30 minutes. Set by our CDN; not under our direct control.
- _vercel (Vercel)
- Strictly necessary. Used by Vercel's edge network for traffic routing. Lifetime: session.
- vlm-consent (Velmora)
- Strictly necessary. Stores your cookie-consent choices so we do not ask again on every visit. Lifetime: 12 months. First-party.
If you visit a Velmora-built site as a customer of one of our clients, the cookies on that site are governed by the client's cookie policy, not this one.
Third-party cookies
We do not embed third-party tags such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, X / Twitter conversion tags, TikTok pixel, advertising-network beacons, or session-replay scripts on velmoraseo.com.
Embedded media from third parties (e.g., a YouTube video on a blog post) may set their own cookies when you click to play. We use the privacy-enhanced “youtube-nocookie.com” embed where possible, but you should review the relevant provider's policy.
Other tracking technologies
We use the following non-cookie technologies, each on a privacy-minimized basis:
- Server logs. Standard request logs containing IP, user-agent, and URL. Retained ≤ 30 days, used for debugging and security. No analytics.
- Plausible analytics. A cookie-less, server-side aggregator that records page views without setting an identifier or storing IP addresses.
- Local storage. Used only on the Contact form to auto-save your draft while you type, so you don't lose work if you tab away. Cleared when you submit or remove the draft.
We do not use device fingerprinting, cross-device linking, browser-storage advertising IDs, or any other technique that has the effect of tracking you across the web.
Consent & GPC
Because we set only strictly-necessary cookies, we do not display a cookie banner. Strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive (Art. 5(3)).
If we ever introduce cookies in another category (functional, analytics with cookies, or marketing), we will:
- Display a clear, granular consent banner before such cookies are set.
- Default all non-essential categories to off (no pre-ticked boxes).
- Provide an “Accept” and an equally prominent “Reject” option.
- Honor any Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a binding opt-out under California Civ. Code § 1798.135(b).
- Provide a persistent way to change your choices.
How to manage cookies in your browser
All major browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies. Below are the official instructions for the most common ones. Blocking all cookies will not break velmoraseo.com.
Browser extensions such as Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin, and the EFF's GPC-supporting extensions give you finer-grained control.
Do Not Track signals
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which is recognized as a binding opt-out under California, Colorado, and Connecticut law.
We do not respond to the older HTTP “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal, because the W3C standardization process for DNT was discontinued in 2018. Because we do not perform cross-site tracking on velmoraseo.com, there is in practice nothing for DNT to opt out of.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove cookies, we will update the inventory in § 3 and revise the version number and effective date at the top of this document. Material changes will be announced on velmoraseo.com at least 14 days before they take effect.
